General Overview of Submissions
Creator’s Pick
-Once a comic has reached at least 15 pages, the artist may submit their favorite page to the Creator’s Pick folder. Every 10 pages, the artist can choose to replace the page with a new one if they choose to do so.
Featured
-The Featured section will reset every week. All new pages will be submitted to the Featured section, and every Sunday it will be cleaned out again. This will help give attention to active comics and showcase all the new pages.
Comic Back Covers
-Back Covers on novels help to introduce new readers to their comic. They contain a brief overview of the story and a picture. These are quick ways for new readers to browse through various comics to find a new one that interests them. They must contain both an image and text to be considered! Only one back cover per comic.
Monthly Featured Comic
-Each month, a comic will be randomly selected to be featured by the group in a journal. In order for a comic to be eligible, they must have submitted at least 1 page in the previous month. The feature will contain staff picks for their best pages, promotional art, and a brief overview of the comic.
Favorites (Comic Covers)
-Comic covers must be submitted to the Favorites section of the group. In order for a cover to be submitted, the comic must have at least 5 pages. If a cover is submitted to the group gallery, it will be denied without warning.
Frequently Asked Questions
My comic has animals other than canines in it. Is it allowed?
Yes, as long as the canines are the primary/major focus of the story.
My comics features a fictional species, but they are mainly canine based. Can I submit it?
Yes, as long as we feel like they still look like canines.
Do hyenas count as canines?
No, they do not.
What is the difference between Comic Creator and Member?
Right now, nothing. In the future this may change.
Can I submit fanart for comics or promotional work for comics?
At this time, no.
I made a tutorial, article, or general guide to canines/comics. Can I submit it?
Yes! However, we will judge the merit of the tutorial, article, or guide.
I want to become a reviewer! What do I do?
Reviewers are volunteers that are approved by the staff. Anyone may ask to volunteer by sending the group a note.
What is a back cover?
Back covers must contain a picture and text to be accepted. They help readers get a quick idea for what a comic will be like, so they can know whether it will interest them or not.
How do I get an overview for my comic in the Comic Directory?
The creator must submit their own overview. Please keep it limited to 1-4 sentences! If we feel it is too long, we will ask you to shorten it.
I feel like my comic was mis-categorized in the Comic Directory. How can I fix it?
Send us a note explaining why the category is incorrect and which category you believe it belongs in.
I don’t see a certain comic in the Comic Directory. Why?
There are so many comics on Deviant-Art, it is hard to keep up with them. It is a joint effort between staff, and we usually only add comics that are well known or actively update. Comics that are obscure and have been inactive for years will likely not be listed.

Canine speech and hearing range in comics
Hello! I am not really sure If I'm allowed to post here, but... oh well. I was curious about a thing that I have seen a lot of times in comics about canines.
As we know very well, canine ears are much more sensitive, can detect sounds from about four times greater distances than people, or even greater distances when dealing with various frequencies . also they are capable of picking up much wider frequency range of sounds, particulary ultrasounds up to 45 000 Hz frequency in some dog breeds, usually up to 25 000 Hz in case of wolves.
So assuming dogs or wolves can talk in comics, how do you approach this difference in sound detection? Do y

I apologize for not starting the Featured Comic this month as some offline matters got in the way.
Are you someone who has been comicing for a while now? Does your comic have a lot of pages?
-If so, I am looking to put together a collection of short tips for beginners. I'm not looking for any kind of lengthy 'how to' guide, or any sort of formal advice. The format will more be a list of bullet quotes from various comic makers on things they have learned first hand. Response can be longer or shorter, and remain named or anonymous. If you have any tips or advice you'd like to share, please PM

It took a bit of time but the group is finally under reconstruction! Some new features have been added, the rules have been updated, some cleaning up has been(and is continuing to be) done, and we are looking for extra helping hands!

-New folders for submission. I am still considering breaking down the alphabet further, but because it would require a lot of work and DA has been glitching with the folders enough as it is, for now the alphabetical order is in tact.
-Creator's Pick allows dedicated comic creators to choose their favorite page to feature in this folder. S

What is a reviewer?
-A reviewer is a volunteer who will review comics if requested by a creator. These are done privately through notes, unless both the reviewer and comic creator choose to have the review be made public. The benefit of a public review is having the comic receive some attention while also allowing others to learn from the mistakes. However, not everyone is comfortable with this process and may wish to keep it private.
Want to become a reviewer? Anyone may ask to volunteer before being approved by staff. Please send us a note telling us your st
